    Wind speed and direction: 18-20 knots from the south decreasing to 12 knots North East
    Sea conditions 1-1.5 m from the south-east.
    The sea was a confusion of a falling tide against a wind chop from the south. We were fortunate that there was little current.

    Comments
    After a somewhat wet start on our way out to the Continental Shelf we managed to dodge most of the Showers. It was a “Great Day”, to see a variety of those species; we hope to see during the Autumn Period, with a few “Surprises” on the day. Several species of Albatrosses long with Petrels, Prions, Shearwaters and Storm-petrels.

    A small pod of Common Dolphins about (10) joined the boat only briefly.

    Highlights Grey-Backed Storm-petrel and seven species of albatrosses.

    The SOSSA Banding Team Darryl and Vincent managed to capture and band an adult Campbell
    Albatross and one Adult Bullers Albatross to the delight to many on board and more birds to add to our data.
